The idea of placing a red house with white knots on the moon came to Västerås artist Mikael Genberg as early as 1999. Four years later, he began to investigate the possibility concretely with a call to the Swedish Space Agency.
– Then it fell on the funding, we didn’t raise enough money through crowdfunding, he says.
This time there are 56 shareholders in a company around the moon house that finances the art project. In 2014, the funding was about 100 million, how much money is involved now, Genberg does not want to reveal.
In the clip: “It’s a secret so far” – every now and then the red cabin will make it to the moon.
