A bomb was found while digging the foundation of a building in Lublin, southeast Poland. Bomb disposal experts, who came to the scene upon the notice, determined that the explosive material in question was from the period of World War II. It was decided to evacuate 14,000 residents before the bomb was removed from its location. Lublin Municipality has prepared meeting places at three points for those evacuated from Bronowice and Kosminek districts in the west of Lublin.
FREE MUNICIPAL BUSES ARE ALLOCATED
While free municipal buses were allocated for those who could not go to the designated points by their own means, the sick and those in need of care were referred to the designated care centers.
THE STREETS ARE EMPLOYED
200 soldiers and police took part in the evacuation of the people and the security of the region. The streets that remained empty after the evacuation were reflected in the security cameras on the streets.
It was stated that while there was an aircraft factory in the place where the bomb was found before the Second World War, the area in question was used by Nazi Germany as a prisoner and labor camp and for the selection and storage of the confiscated goods of the Jews. Bomb disposal experts continue to work on removing the 250 kilogram bomb. (UAV)
