A flash step was taken by North Korea against the large-scale military exercise to be carried out by the USA and South Korea. According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), a meeting of the Military Commission of the Workers’ Party of Korea, chaired by Kim, discussed the army’s combat readiness and plans to attack the enemies.
HE SIGNED SEUL…
Kim signed a resolution on the “implementation of important military measures” while instructing the army to finalize war plans, following talks on increasing border troops, conducting real combat exercises, and developing new strategies and weapons.
Noting that the army should acquire more powerful offensive weapons and deploy them immediately in order to increase its nuclear deterrence, Kim ordered large-scale production of various weapons and systems.
On the other hand, in the footage shared by KCNA, it is stated that during the meeting, Kim pointed out some points on the Korean Peninsula map in and around the capital city of Seoul, which hosts half of the South Korean population and where the army’s headquarters is located.
CHANGED THE HEAD OF THE GENERAL STAFF
Kim also announced at the meeting that he had appointed Ri Yong Gil as Chief of Staff to replace Pak Su-il.
The information on whether Pak, who is also the Minister of Defense, will continue in this position was not shared. (AA)
