The voices against the war led by Russia by invading Ukraine are more and more numerous in the video game. If Electronic Arts was the first publisher to take sanctions against the country led by Vladimir Putin, other publishers and studios have also decided to show their support with the Ukrainian people. This is the case of CD Projekt Red (The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077) and the Bloober Team studio (The Medium), which have just announced the withdrawal of sales of their games throughout Russia and in Belarus as well. Messages of support relayed on their various social networks with the Ukrainian flag in the background to let their commitments against this war that they denounce be known. Whether it’s CD Projekt Red or Bloober Team, everyone knows full well that this choice will have no direct political impact, but believe that the slightest act of protest can still have its effect, especially if everyone everyone gets into it. Of course, the two studios do not question the friendship they may have for Russian and Belarusian players, especially since many of them do not share the opinion of their President Putin. The idea is indeed to galvanize the world community a little more so that it reacts accordingly throughout Europe.

Earlier, studio GSC Game World let it be known that the development of their STALKER 2 game was put on hold, as the company is based in Kiyv/Kiev, and prefers to keep its employees safe. The game was to be released in December 2022 on PC and Xbox Series X | S, but it will probably be necessary to wait until 2023 now to see the game land, if all goes well… We take this opportunity to remind you that at the beginning of the week, c is downright Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation in Ukraine, who had asked Sony and Microsoft to block all Russian accounts to move the lines. To date, the two manufacturers have not reacted.
