The Russian army will be rearming along Russia’s western border. This is reported by Bloomberg and refers to a statement from the country’s Minister of Defense Sergej Shoigu during a meeting with the Ministry of Defense.
The minister says on Wednesday that a “reinforcement of troop formations” on Russia’s western borders is necessary – because of NATO.
“Severely destabilizing”
Sjojgu also talked about Sweden’s and Finland’s entry into the alliance. The countries’ decision to join NATO is “seriously destabilizing for Russia’s security”, according to Shoigu.
He also states that Russia has around 360,000 officials stationed near Russia’s borders.
At the meeting, the West was again criticized for the military support given to Ukraine.
