With The Truman Show, director Peter Weir has made one of the best sci-fi films of all time. The story, starring Jim Carrey as the main character who lives her life clueless in a reality show and slowly finds out, entertains and shocks as well as a bitter reckoning with the media.
The Truman Show airs Tuesday night on Kabel Eins. Screenwriter Andrew Niccol spoke this year about the 1998 classic being a continuation could get.
The Truman Show could get a sequel as a series after 25 years
As we reported at the time, according to Niccol, there were already talks about a musical or a series as a sequel to The Truman Show. This should be about a network with several channels and thus several main characters.
The screenwriter describes in more detail that in this world there can be young people from different parts of New York, who should never meet. At the end of a potential first season, they would then meet and fall in love, prompting the network to sever those romances.
When is The Truman Show on TV?
You can watch the sci-fi classic on August 8 at 10:15 p.m. on Kabel eins look. There is no more detailed information about the possibly planned sequel.
