The bread crisis continues in Tunisia with the sit-in in front of the Ministry of Commerce, Monday, August 7, of nearly 200 owners of modern bakeries, at the call of the Conect union. They have been on strike since August 1, in response to Kais Saïed’s wish that they only produce the subsidized baguette, if they wish to receive subsidized flour quotas. Over the weekend, the Ministry of Commerce suspended the supply of flour and semolina to these bakeries.
