When Robert Gustafsson made a private disclosure about doping – and made Håkan Loob fold over with laughter

Robert Gustafsson is the uncrowned master of humor.
And he was always at his best when he talked about sports.
Like the time he made Håkan Loob double over asgarv – when he talked about doping.

Robert Gustafsson is one of our most beloved celebrities, and when it comes to humor there are few who can measure up. Regardless of the program or medium, Gustafsson has always dominated, but he has been a little extra good when it came to joking about sports.

Total show

That is why the program Time Out, which was broadcast for several years on TV4, suited him like a glove. There, Gustafsson often got the chance to be exactly as crazy as he wanted, and he often took the chance and delivered some completely unforgettable moments and sketches – always with the sport in absolute focus.

The whole of Sweden lined up to see Gustafsson’s total brilliance, and it was not infrequent that he made some of Sweden’s biggest athletes have total fits of laughter with his beautiful derailments. Icons such as Gunde Svan and Niklas Wikegård have fallen victim and tanned their lips to Gustafsson’s pranks, but so has Håkan Loob – and also after jokes about a subject that may not traditionally be so funny.

Loob retreats from tan

When Robert Gustafsson – at the time of the recording much younger than today – got the chance to talk about doping, he pulled a joke so clever that hockey legend Loob, who is still the only Swede to score 50 goals in one and the same season in the NHL, absolutely couldn’t hold back. Gustafsson told, initially seriously, about how doping has become so common that even his 5-year-old son has started doing it.

And then just one big laugh fest followed, where absolutely no one could keep from bursting into tears at Gustafsson’s beautiful show. It’s really quite impossible not to laugh when the master of humor gets going, and this is certainly proof of that.
