Subversive and visionary, Max Ernst (1891-1976) is one of the most outstanding and unclassifiable artists of the 20th century. Of German-American-French nationality, this painter and sculptor signs a singular work on the border between reality and illusion. 130 of his paintings, sculptures, drawings and ceramics are currently exhibited at the Hôtel de Caumont, an art center in Aix-en-Provence in the south of France under the title “Magical Worlds, Freed Worlds”.
