Alien’s terrifying character, Xenomorph, joins Dead by Daylight as the final horror icon.
Released in 2016, Dead by Daylight has acquired a large cast of killer characters from Nightmare on Elm Street movies like Freddy Krueger and from various media sources like Resident Evil 3’s Nemesis.
Dead by Daylight makes unexpected move with Xenomorph
This multiplayer game pits four survivors against a serial killer as they try to get through the night unseen. Lastly, movie star Nicolas Cage was added to the cast of Dead by Daylight and offered players some fun features to explore.
In a video uploaded to the official Dead by Daylight YouTube channel, players get a first look at the iconic Xenomorph, starting with the slowly forming Alien logo. In the short clip, it is possible to see the hexagonal table in Nostromo and the scenes where even Ripley’s cat roams the corridors of the destroyed spaceship. The video ends with a hint that more information about the final character added to the Dead By Daylight roster will be announced on August 8.
Horror icon Xenomorph will appear in Dead by Daylight
Fans will be looking forward to getting their hands on the Xenomorph with its addition to Dead by Daylight, which also demonstrates that Behavior Interactive continues to support this immensely popular game even though it was released in 2016. The team also seems intent on speeding things up with the poll sent to fans last month for Dead by Daylight.
Although Xenomorph has been one of the most recognizable horror characters of the past few decades, its representation in video games has often been complex. There are critically acclaimed games like Alien: Isolation, as well as seemingly disastrous ventures like Alien: Colonial Marines. The last game, Alien: Dark Descent, received better reviews from critics when it was released in June 2023.
Players won’t have to wait long for more information on the Alien update. Behavior Interactive will showcase the latest killer character for Dead by Daylight on August 8. While the creature isn’t expected to be released the same day in-game, it will be interesting to see new ways to chase survivors.
