Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem
The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles entertains despite an interchangeable story
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles draws one of its greatest strengths from an idea that already Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and its predecessor was based. An imaginative new animation style between computer animation and drawing lines builds the bridge between the comic templates and the screen, looks great and enables visually stunning action worlds that put all real films in the shade.
In addition, the fun of those involved is extremely noticeable. Co-writer Seth Rogen (Pineapple Express) and director Jeff Rowe (The Mitchells vs. the Machines) put all their fan passion into the film and fill it with a lot of humor, 1000 pop culture references and an excellent selection of music. The chemistry between the Turtles’ voice actors (including Brady Noon) makes their crew authentic and very entertaining.
The somewhat interchangeable story and jokes geared toward Gen Z audiences may not appeal to everyone. But in the end, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is beyond reproach because of its passion and vivacity.
