On the way home from Ica, she decided to strangle her friend.

When they watched Eurovision, she put on seat gloves and went on the attack.

– It was something I just got for myself, says the young woman in questioning.

The couple, who had a brief love affair, meet in the man’s apartment to hang out and watch Eurovision.

The woman, who is in her 20s, says she wants to give the man a back massage. He lies down on a mattress on the floor.

She puts on a pair of field gloves that she brought from home and takes a stranglehold.

“Wanted to vent my anger”

The man screams and breaks free. But the woman manages to knock him down again and takes another stranglehold. This time it’s harder, he feels like he’s starting to lose consciousness.

In the end, he manages to break free and gets help from neighbors.

In questioning, the woman tells about how she decided to strangle the man.

– I was on my way home from Ica and felt very bad. I had destructive thoughts … and then I came up with the idea that I want to take my anger out on him. I went home with the food I had bought and thought to myself that I should take the plastic gloves because that would be a good idea because even then I thought that I wanted to strangle him.

Inspired by police who murdered

The woman says the man was “very narcissistic and saw her as a dog”.

– I was very annoyed by that.

She tells the police that she searched online for Derek Chauvin, an American police officer who choked a black man to death in the street

– I was a little fascinated by it… I wanted to see how he did it and so… I saw this video and thought why shouldn’t I be able to strangle someone, says the woman in the interrogation.

A forensic psychiatric examination shows that the woman suffered from a serious mental disorder when she committed the crime. Värmland district court sentences her to forensic psychiatric care.
