On Tuesday, a skyscraper in the Russian capital Moscow was attacked by drones for the second time in two days, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.
The images show that the building’s glass facade was damaged, but no injuries have been reported.
Previous attacks on Moscow
There have been a series of drone attacks in recent months in the Moscow region, which is about 450 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. Russia blames all attacks on Ukraine, which has denied involvement.
Ukraine’s drone: “Moped engine with a propeller”
According to military strategist and lieutenant colonel Joakim Paasikivi, the attacks were probably carried out by Ukrainian drones, which are powered by moped engines.
– They are available in slightly different configurations and can fly perhaps 100 miles. They have a navigation system and can carry explosive charges between 20 and 50 kilos approximately, says Joakim Paasikivi.
– Then it’s just a matter of programming, refueling and setting off, he adds.
