Destiny 2 has announced that a new server update is scheduled for today, August 1st. This will require the servers to go offline so improvements and some necessary bug fixes can be applied to the game. As always, we will keep you up to date.

What you need to know today: Shortly before today’s weekly reset, Bungie will again release update 7.1.5.2 to optimize the Destiny 2 gaming experience. So be prepared that from 5:15 p.m. this afternoon you will no longer be able to access the Bungie servers for a while. The exact times that Bungie has set can be found below in the article.

Shortly before the start of the third event week of the solstice, Bungie will also be bringing back a much-missed option and comments on this with the words: “You all wanted it, so have fun”.

  • This means Guardians will be able to log in after the update and then go back to using their Sparrow to their heart’s content in the Solstice Event Bonfire Party.
  • We have summarized what else is to change in this article.

Maintenance on 01.08. – All server down times

These times are important today: As always, today’s update will be released for all platforms, i.e. PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC. According to current planning, the planned downtime is 1 hour and 45 minutes.

MeinMMO will be monitoring the server down and will regularly update this article with the latest information from Bungie Support. Even if the times should change.

Here’s the current schedule for today’s maintenance in Destiny 2:

  • 4:00 p.m.: Background maintenance starts on all platforms.
  • 5:15 p.m.: Bungie will take the servers offline. Players are automatically kicked out of the game.
  • During the downtime, update 7.1.5.2 will be installed and then gradually rolled out.
  • 7:00 p.m.: The expected login should be possible again in time for the weekly reset.
  • However, the maintenance will continue to run in the background until 8:00 p.m., which means that you may still have to expect slight stutters during this time.
  • Important: As long as the background maintenance is running, there may be connection problems in the game. In addition, there may be longer queues when logging in immediately after the update.

Please also note that third-party applications and the official companion app will not be accessible correctly for a while and therefore cannot be used.

This changes with Update 7.1.5.2 in Season 21

Update 7.1.5.2 is coming on August 1st

That brings the update today: Bungie is constantly working to identify and fix known issues and bugs in Destiny 2. The update will therefore again address some of these bugs. It also focuses on an issue discovered during the course of the Solstice quest after the release of Update 7.1.5.1, which causes a pop-up window to block quest progress when a character’s entire armor is reignited.

Otherwise, these things are still on the Bungie update list:

  • Several Solstice items are missing from the collections.
  • Bungie had to temporarily turn off a performance optimization that was causing visual flickering with some transparent objects on NVIDIA 3000/4000 series cards.
  • The Ejection Seat Solstice challenge does not receive progress from any Neomuna activities. The Guardians can still complete this objective by completing the Lost Sectors or the Strike Hyper-Web Stream.
  • Certain Honored Centurions in the Gilded Commandment Lost Sector are too bright.
  • Due to an issue, the armor mods Detonation Boost, Focus Attack, Impact Induction, and Momentum Transfer are disabled.
  • The Child of the Old Gods Void Warlock Aspect is not providing ability energy or health as expected.
  • Player name changes are not infinitely customizable through bungie.net. Several “Number Guardians” continue to wait here for the option to change their player name again, instead of getting the “You don’t have any name changes available” message.
  • If you have noticed any errors in the game that are not listed here, you are welcome to report them in our comments section.

What’s in the patch notes? Bungie publishes the list of all changes for maintenance 7.1.5.2 in the form of patch notes. However, these will only appear tonight and give a complete overview of all fixed problems and improvements.

As soon as they are published, we will link them in this article, as this may change later.

MeinMMO will link you to the patch notes in this box as soon as Bungie has published them.

Bungie Says Thank You for Your Support Assistance: Some changes in Destiny 2 can be implemented in 24 hours, while others can take years.

However, both are important and will require time and resources to ensure that Games for All truly remains a promise for all. This was announced by Bungie in the last “This Week at Destiny 2” blog.

  • Therefore, after receiving the Games for Change Accessibility Award, Bungie thanked all players who continue to contribute with their feedback to optimize the game.
  • As part of the awards, Bungie was recognized for changes to color blindness settings, melee autofire, and photosensitivity.
  • So keep sharing your thoughts, expectations, and hopes for Destiny 2, including in our comments. It doesn’t matter whether you are a passionate guardian or a curious newcomer.
