Interested players can try Final Fantasy XIV completely free without paying the monthly fees. Unlike other MMORPGs like World of Warcraft, FF14 offers a lot of content that players can enjoy for free. And soon more will follow.
So far, the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV is only available for PC and PS5. But Xbox boss Phil Spencer caused a big surprise with his appearance at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest.
The MMORPG will also be released for Xbox Series X|S next year. The release of the Xbox version should be in spring 2024. A beta test should already be carried out with patch 6.5, which should appear in the course of 2023.
On the Xbox Series X, a resolution of 4K should even be possible. With this, players will benefit from the graphics upgrade that is to be implemented in the coming year.

Why is FF14 getting better and better? So far only the base game A Realm Reborn and the first expansion Heavensward are part of the free trial. But in the course of the year, the free version will be expanded with the second expansion, Stormblood.
Even without the extension, the free trial offers over 134 hours of content (via howlongtobeat.com). With Stormblood, the playing time increases to at least 195 hours. The maximum level will then be limited to 70, with all expansions a maximum of 90 would be possible.
The special feature: There is no limit to the playing time. You can take as much time with the game as you want.
Players make fun of competition
In the corresponding Reddit thread, some users compare the free version of Final Fantasy XIV with that of World of Warcraft. Blizzard’s MMORPG offers players the opportunity to test the base game up to level 20. After that, monthly costs are due.
In contrast, in Square Enix’s MMORPG, players can enjoy all content up to level 60, soon even up to level 70. Accordingly, FF14 has the edge in the community.
