For more than ten years, Robert Lewandowski has been one of the world’s absolute best strikers, and his goal output is simply incomparably impressive. The Pole has won pretty much everything there is to win – but in one area he was completely crushed by a certain Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Last year, Lewandowski, who for many years was the Bundesliga’s top goal scorer, made a much talked about move to FC Barcelona. It was in high profile form that Bayern Munich chose to sell the star striker to the Catalans, who then came off a weak season and what many saw as an impending crisis.
FC Barcelona were, to say the least, proud to have finally landed their big dream signing, and there were many who wanted to make it to the historic Camp Nou to welcome him. In order to attract as many people as possible, Barcelona also chose to make entry completely free. And of course it was a smash hit and the stands were almost full of smack.

Couldn’t beat Zlatan
According to FC Barcelona, the official crowd count during Lewandowski’s announcement was measured at a whopping 59,026. An impressive number, to say the least, and in fact the second highest figure Barcelona have ever had when it comes to player performances. But there was one player who topped Lewandowski.
When Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined Barcelona in 2009, as many as 60,000 supporters came to Camp Nou to welcome the Swede. The record thus stands to this day – despite the fact that admission to such events is now free, which was not the case when Ibrahimovic was introduced. That says a lot about his stardom, and how eager people were to actually see him in a Barcelona shirt for the very first time.
