Anyone who is cowardly in the new WoW mode can forget their character for 72 hours

The newest mode in World of Warcraft is not for the faint of heart. Because they can’t use their character for 72 hours.

Even if the WoW Classic community is currently struggling with flying bots and GDKP systems, there will soon be a highlight that many players are looking forward to: the hardcore mode. Characters only have one life here and if you die on the way to level 60, you can only continue playing out of spirit from now on.

But anyone who turns out to be a coward also gets a pretty harsh punishment.

What is this debuff? The “Coward!” debuff lasts for a whopping 3 days – 72 hours. It brings with it a whole range of negative effects:

  • All attributes are reduced by 20%.
  • All damage dealt is reduced by 20%.
  • Armor is reduced by 20%.
  • All spell resistances are reduced by 20%.
  • Effectively this means that not only will your character be ostracized by all other players for those 3 days, but you will also be virtually unable to play him. A reduction of 20% in WoW Classic often turns a safe fight into one that you just barely survive.

How do you get this debuff? In the hardcore version of WoW Classic there will be the opportunity to challenge other players to “Mak’gora” – a duel to the death. This duel really doesn’t end at 1 HP, but goes to the death of either character.

And yes, that also means that character is then completely dead and cannot continue playing WoW Classic Hardcore.

However, if you realize in a duel that you are losing, you might think of simply fleeing. This is possible even if Blizzard has significantly increased the radius of the duel. Those who flee will be punished with the “Coward!” debuff.

By the way, you cannot get the debuff while you are under a control effect. So, for example, a priest cannot mind control you and then carry you out of the duel area.

Why should you participate in duels? Of course, accepting a life-and-death duel in hardcore mode is immensely risky. So this is only for very experienced PvP fans and anyone looking for an even more extreme thrill anyway.

However, this achievement is “rewarded” with a special ear chain, which you can see as a buff on your own character. Each other hero you’ve killed in a duel adds a stack of this permanent buff. With a click on your character, everyone can see how many other lives you have already killed – and whether it is better not to be fooled.
