Today, Sunday, July 30, 2023, Pokémon GO marks the next Quapsel-focused Community Day. We show you what content and bonuses you can expect.
What is this event? At Community Day, a specific Pokémon is the focus for several hours. In this case, it’s Quapsel.
While this isn’t particularly rare, it offers a new ability for the Quappo and Quaxo evolutions on C-Day. The attack counter is particularly interesting for Quappo and makes the Community Day surprisingly strong.
When is Community Day with Quapsel? It starts on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. local time and then goes until 5:00 p.m. So you have three hours.

Pokemon of the day: Bobble spawns almost anywhere in the wild
Exclusive attack: The attack Counter if you evolve Quaputzi into Quappo, or Ice Beam if you evolve Quaputzi into Quaxo. You have time for the developments from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Bonuses:
– Eggs will hatch four times faster during the event
– There are Double Catch Candies and a double chance of XL Candies for trainers of level 31 and above
– Smoke and Lure Modules last 3 hours
– Snapshot surprises
– An additional special exchange – so two a day
– Trading costs 50% less Stardust
– The special research “Sliding Spirals” also ends up in the shop and costs one euro
Bonus Raid Battles will also take place after the event. From 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Quaputzi appears in the level 4 raids, and after a win, many Quapzi also appear near the arena for 30 minutes.
For whom is the Community Day with Quapsel worthwhile?
Bobble isn’t a particularly rare Pokémon, but the attacks in the event make it worth evolving on Bobble in particular.
Can Quapsel be Shiny? Yes, you can also catch the Tadpole Pokémon Quapsel as a Shiny variant. The chances are increased during the event and after an arena win until 10:00 p.m. Here you can see the visual adjustments:
How strong is Quapsel? Quapsel itself doesn’t play a big role, its further development is clearly more useful. Quappo is a powerful monster in PvP Battle League. Through the Community Day, Quappo can also learn counters if you develop it from Quaputzi during the event or up to 5 hours later.
In the subreddit “TheSilphRoad” for Pokémon GO, this causes enthusiasm. That would go from a decent fight league contender to an absolute meta pick, explains one user (via Reddit). PvP expert JRE47 also emphasizes, based on PvPoke simulations, that Quappo is becoming really powerful in the league (via Reddit).
Here’s how to prepare for Community Day
Bring empty incubators: If you still have eggs hatching, you should make sure that your incubator(s) are empty on Sunday. Then you can select the eggs during the event and hatch four times as fast.
Other Items: Enough Poké Balls to catch are important. We recommend having about 200 to 300 on hand. You can also use pineapple berries to bag additional candies.
Mega Pokémon for more Candy: If you have a suitable mega development active, you will get more candies for your catches.
Since Quapsel is of the Water type, you need a corresponding Mega Evolution of that type. There are:
Make space: Prepare space in the Pokémon collection so you don’t have to ship large monsters on ComDay. Use the filter function for this. with the search term
the game only shows you monsters that are worse than 2 stars.
