You constantly try to expand your base, improve your equipment and defend yourself against enemy creatures. On top of that, there are various NPCs that you can interact with in Terraria.
How popular is Terraria? With an average of 44,300 players, Terraria is the fifth most popular game on Steam, beating popular genres like Valheim, Conan Exiles, Sons of the Forest, Don’t Starve Together and No Man’s Sky on Steam (via Steam Charts).

What kind of game is this? ARK: Survival Evolved mixes prehistoric creatures, mystical creatures and science fiction. You can build huts out of straw and wood, or use modern technology and iron structures.
You will not only be supported by other players, but also by the various creatures. They can help you with hunting, exploring the map or farming resources.
If you dare, you can also challenge bosses in PvE mode, which unlock special rewards. Alternatively, you can compete against other players and their dinosaurs in PvP if the dangers of the wild nature are not enough for you.
How popular is ARC? ARK has consistently averaged over 40,000 players since November 2021 and has a firm place among the most popular survival games on Steam. In the past 30 days, the dinosaur adventure again had over 47,000 players and secured fourth place in the top 5 (via SteamCharts).
By the way, ARK is supposed to get a remaster in 2023 that uses Unreal Engine 5: The remaster of ARK: Survival Evolved will come later, but will be cheaper for a short time
