Gamers didnt like the new Xbox interface

Xbox finally launched its long-awaited new interface yesterday, but so far it has not received much positive response.

On Xbox reddit domains, gamers seem quite angry about the lack of customization, the ‘advertising’ imposed, and a more plain and unfriendly homepage due to group restrictions.

Player requests for customization for the new Xbox interface

On the Xbox Series X subreddit (you can think of it like a room), Spiderwolfer posted a post titled “PLEASE tell me how to get rid of this.” Spiderwolfer wrote, “Since the new Xbox Home Screen update, I’ve been penalized with this horrible, unmovable tab called ‘Most Played Games’. It wouldn’t be totally scary if it included the games I played the most, but it doesn’t. There are games played,” he added.

Game Pass ads and restrictions

Other reviewers say, “The new update has ruined everything.” NotFromMilkyWay said, “This redesign is just because they wanted to drown us in Game Pass ads.” These comments, which received hundreds of likes, clearly show that the community shares these thoughts.

Pros and cons of the new interface

Participants in the Insiders program state that these thoughts have been shared for months and not much has changed until September of last year.

“Team Xbox has completely overlooked our ability to customize,” DoobiousRogal said. “If they opened a weekly thread to give feedback every week and all they did was shrink some tiles and slide them in half. Almost all customization has been removed except for the background, color and dark/light theme.”

A common theme in these posts is that updating visually is a huge improvement, but making the homepage full of chaotic Game Pass tabs overshadows all the positives.

“The update sucks, I want my groups back and I don’t need all these ads,” said user Interesting-Trash-41. “It is also completely false to claim that this was made with a move and our feedback, as these games are what players want,” he added.
