It has been confirmed by Activision that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 5 will include an in-game promotional event for the long-awaited Call of Duty 2023 title.
The new title, which is said to be developed by Sledgehammer Games, is pointed as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 with many rumors and leaks, and Modern Warfare 2 fans will soon be able to watch the worldwide promotion together.
Rich content and exciting modes in the new season
Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 will bring a host of new content for its multiplayer component. This includes the redesigned Strike map from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the Havoc main mode, and the 20v20 Capture the Great Flag mode.
The season will also add three new variants to the popular Gunfight mode: Special, Snipers and Armored Gunfight. Also, the start of Season 5 marks the return of Shadow Company CEO Philip Graves, and there has been speculation about what the season might bring for the future of the Modern Warfare franchise.
Warzone event details for Call of Duty 2023 promotion
The official Call of Duty Twitter account has confirmed that a promotional event for Call of Duty 2023 will be held during Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone Season 5. A new Call of Duty blog post published states that players can watch the worldwide promotion together at a limited-time Warzone event.
In this event, players must neutralize a chemical weapon threat to the Shadow Company before it falls into the hands of Konni forces. Activision also released an image for the event. This image depicts the Zaya Observatory on the Al Mazrah map surrounded by red smoke.
While Season 5 will launch on August 2 in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone, the worldwide rollout of Call of Duty 2023 will take place later. Warzone players will be able to choose between Task Force 141 or Shadow Company in the “Faction Showdown” event during Season 5, but this event will take place as a separate event from Warzone’s in-game promotion for the next Call of Duty title.
Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone players can expect a lot of exciting content in Season 5. There is also talk of a mid-season update coming with new maps, operators and multiplayer modes.
