Despite the decline of Twitter users, Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, made some questionable decisions this past weekend. After changing Twitter’s logo to the “X” and promising a slew of new features that no one wanted, Musk is now facing another big problem. It’s called fierce competition.

TikTok improves user experience with text posts

TikTok has announced a new feature, text posts, that offers users a Twitter-like experience. This will allow creators to share their stories and other types of content in a different and simpler way. The new feature is available starting today and doesn’t require many clicks to run.

When you access the camera page, you can now choose from three options: photo, video and text. By tapping on the text option, users will be directed to the text creation page and can type the content of their post. It’s not as fast and smooth as tweeting, but given the fact that TikTok is a video-focused platform, they’ll have to make do with it for now.

New feature of TikTok as an alternative to Twitter

In addition to creating posts, TikTok users can customize their content by adding Audio, tagging a location, enabling comments and allowing Duets. This will make text posts more dynamic than what Twitter currently offers.

For example, TikTok users can add stickers, tags, and hashtags to text posts, enriching them with background colors and sounds. It’s also possible to save drafts and store them with other unpublished posts for later editing, so you can discard them if you’re not happy with the result.

This nice new feature probably won’t attract most Twitter users, as Musk’s social platform caters to a diverse audience, but it might also be worth trying to have some alternatives to pull back before the ship sinks.

You will be able to add color to your posts with TikTok’s new text feature

TikTok’s new text feature offers users a Twitter-style experience. Now when you access the Camera page, you will see the text option as well as the photo and video options.

You can write your content by going to the text creation page. You can customize your content with options like adding audio, geotagging, and enabling comments. TikTok offers an alternative to Twitter by making your text sharing more dynamic and attractive.
