Two people have died in the German capital Berlin after they jumped from a building in an attempt to escape a fire, the rescue service said.
The fire is reported to have broken out on floor ten of twelve in a residential building in the district of Kreuzberg.
Several people were rescued from the flames, but the two who jumped died at the scene despite resuscitation attempts.
The fire was later extinguished. What caused it is still unknown.
