Region Uppsala warns of fraud attempts

– We want to draw the public’s attention to this, says Robert Arktell, head of planning and supply at Nära vård og hälsa in a press release.

Trying to trick his bank ID

Region Uppsala is now warning of fraudsters who state that they are calling from a healthcare center and are trying to trick people into their bank ID. According to the region, many of the patients have become suspicious and have not handed over any bank details.

Have acted exactly right

Robert Arktell says that those who have come forward have done the right thing by not giving out their bank details.

– But there is a risk that others fall for the scam and end up badly, for example losing money. We therefore want to draw the public’s attention to this, says Robert Arktell.

Region Uppsala’s care centers never ask for a bank ID over the phone. If someone calls and demands this, it is a fraud and you should hang up, writes the region in a press release.
