Actually, it’s absurd: Galaxy Quest came to the cinema in 1999 as a Star Trek parody and wanted to get over the popular science fiction franchise make fun, which has delighted fans around the world since the launch of Starship Enterprise in the 1960s. But then everything turned out very differently.
Galaxy Quest pokes fun at many familiar Star Trek elements. In the end, however, director Dean Parisot and his creative team created a film that was dear to his heart a genuine Star Trek film and is celebrated as such even by fans of the original. Not many parodies can claim that.
The seventh best Star Trek film: The Galaxy Quest parody won over even the fans of the original
Galaxy Quest actually landed in a major fan poll conducted by the official Star Trek site in 2013 #7 Best Star Trek Movies, as IGN notes in a report from that time. There is hardly a better seal of quality.

Galaxy Quest – Trailer (German)
Galaxy Quest’s story follows a meta approach. Before we dive into fantastic sci-fi worlds, let’s learn the Cast of a sci-fi series on Earth: Jason Nesmith (Tim Allen), Gwen DeMarco (Sigourney Weaver), Guy Fleegman (Sam Rockwell), Sir Alexander Dane (Alan Rickman) and Fred Kwan (Tony Shalhoub).
The five actors were once the big stars of Galaxy Quest. Since the cancellation of the series, however, they have only dragged themselves exhausted from one fan convention to the next. But then a group of aliens appear and asks the Galaxy Quest crew for help. Because a malicious being threatens the galaxy.
Despite the popularity that Galaxy Quest enjoys among fan circles, it is a sequel to the sci-fi adventure not materialized to this day. There have been rumors over the past few years. However, Galaxy Quest 2 never became concrete. More recently, a new edition in series form at Paramount + was indicated.
