A man was arrested after a family dispute that involved an alleged threat against his mother.

Officers responded to a family dispute on McGuigan Avenue in Chatham at about 8:30 am Sunday, Chatham-Kent police said.

An argument escalated when the man allegedly damaged his mother’s cellphone and commented about harming her, police said.

The man is charged with uttering threats and mischief, police said.

He was released with conditions and an Aug. 14 short date.

Wallaceburg man charged with uttering threats

A Wallaceburg man was arrested after Chatham-Kent police responded to a threat investigation on Harvey Street in Chatham at about 8 pm Sunday.

The man allegedly threatened to harm another man while speaking with his ex-girlfriend. The exchange was recorded and the 33-year-old was arrested and charged with uttering threats, police said. He was released with conditions and an Aug. 21 short date.

Vehicles damaged in parking lot

A man was arrested Sunday afternoon following a disturbance at a St. Clair Street business in Chatham.

The man was seen inside the store at about 1:30 pm and was asked to leave by employees, , Chatham-Kent police said.

As the man walked through the parking lot, he allegedly struck vehicles at random, causing damage, police said.

The 36-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with mischief. He was taken to police headquarters pending a bail hearing, police said.

Dresden woman charged with impaired driving

A woman is charged with impaired driving charge in connection to a motor vehicle crash in Dresden Sunday afternoon.

The woman allegedly struck another vehicle while leaving a North Street establishment in Dresden at about 4:30 pm, Chatham-Kent police said.

The owner of the second vehicle followed the woman to a nearby parking lot where he was able to retrieve her car keys and call police.

A 54-year-old Dresden woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests, police said

She is charged with operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit, police said. She was released with conditions and an Aug. 14 short date.
