Strange New Worlds surprises with episode that opens a whole

In 1966, the very first episode of Star Trek flickered across screens, followed by ten series and three theatrical series. Still, this one can science fiction universe for himself yet undiscovered land. The latest case: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

One of the upcoming episodes of the second season will told as a musical for the first time in the history of the series. You can see how it looks (and sounds) in the promo video below.

Details about the sci-fi musical were revealed at Comic-Con

The annual Comic-Con was held in San Diego over the weekend and at a panel on the Star Trek universe, the episode was titled
Subspace Rhapsody announced.

The musical episode will feature ten songs written for the series and the soundtrack will also be available online. Kay Hanley and Tom Polce from the American band Letters to Cleo are responsible for the music. Movie buffs may have heard Hanley in one of the 2000s musical cult films, as she lent her singing voice to Rachael Leigh Cook on Josie and the Pussycats.

Hanley and Polce recorded a new version of the series’ theme, which you can hear in the video. Alongside the promo, an old-school poster for the mini-musical set in the Star Trek universe was released:

Incidentally, Uhura star Celia Rose Gooding studied musical theater and gained greater attention in the Broadway musical Jagged Little Pill. At least one star should therefore be perfectly prepared.

This is how you can stream the Star Trek episode in Germany

Strange New Worlds is available in Germany via Paramount+ * in a flat rate. So far, seven season 2 episodes have been released in Germany (including the surprise weekend crossover with Lower Decks). There is a new episode every Thursday.

Subspace Rhapsody is the 9th episode of the 2nd season, which means it will probably be released on August 3 in Germany be available.
