The Perth County OPP has charged a 21-year-old Perth East resident with failing to remain at the scene of a collision in Perth East earlier this month.
Police said officers had responded to reports of a two-vehicle collision on Perth Line 34 shortly before 2 pm on July 16. Police alleged one of the vehicles involved in the collision left the scene. That vehicle was later found in Stratford.
As a result, the 21-year-old driver was charged with fail to remain, fail to report an accident, careless driving, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, driving with open alcohol, driving with liquor readily available, having a blood-alcohol content above zero as a young driver, and driving without a valid permit.
The driver is scheduled to appear in Stratford court on Sept. 12 to answer the charges.
