Since the restaurant located on one of the ski slopes was burned to the ground, the police technician decided not to do any investigation of the scene. They tell preliminary investigation leader Sanna Mattson.
– There is nothing to indicate a crime and they do not carry out a technical crime scene investigation.
It was at 10 a.m. on July 13 that staff from Skistar raised the alarm about smoke coming from the restaurant. A few hours later, the premises were engulfed in flames and beyond rescue.
– We will request a spread statement from the rescue service, if you can see anything about how the fire started, says Sanna Mattson.
Further questioning of witnesses
The police have sought tips from the public, but so far this has yielded no results. What remains is further witness interviews with personnel from the rescue service about the course of events.
– We are in a situation where it depends on witness interviews, mainly from the emergency services about what happened. We are not waiting for any new technical evidence.
If no new information is received, Sanna Mattson believes that the case will be closed within a few weeks.
