While tourists waited to be taken home, crowds formed at Rhodes International Airport and gyms.

As forest fires ravaged the Greek Islands, the British authorities decided to evacuate 20 areas on the island of Corfu for its citizens.
The first evacuated group was able to return to London from Rhodes on Sunday, but evacuations were delayed after that due to delays.
Families trapped in the evacuation operation, described as ‘absolute turmoil’, spoke to the DailyMail newspaper. The unfortunate tourists expressed that they were quite desperate and said that “we are fighting for our lives”.

Evacuation orders have been issued for some parts of Evia Island, located off the east coast of Greece.
According to the news of the Greek state news agency ANA-MPA, residents of 4 villages, namely Livadi, Potami, Pernaraki and Platanisto, were advised to leave the area as a precaution.
Residents were told to move towards the Karystos area.
BOATS SENT TO KORFU FOR evacuation
On the island of Corfu, the evacuation decision was made on Sunday.
People in the areas of Santa, Megoula, Porta, Palia, Perithia and Sinies on the island have been told to evacuate. A government official said that boats were sent to the area to evacuate residents by sea.
19 THOUSAND PEOPLE DISCHARGED FROM RHODES
19 thousand people have been evacuated so far in the fight against the fires fueled by the winds on Rhodes Island since Tuesday.
TURKISH CITIZENS HAVE BEEN DISCHARGED
Yesterday, Salim Kırcalıali, Consul General of Rhodes, announced that Turkish citizens in the fire area were evacuated.
In addition, Turkey sent aid to Greece in the fight against the fires, and Greek Prime Minister Miçotakis issued a thank you message to Turkey for its help.
