At least one person has been killed in a Russian airstrike against Odessa in southern Ukraine during the night to Sunday, governor Oleh Kiper said. A total of 14 people, three of whom were children, had been taken to hospital at 3am.

There is damage to civil infrastructure, residential buildings and a religious building, the governor writes on Telegram. Emergency services are working to search for the injured.

The air raid warning of Russian attacks has gone off several times during the night in the region.

The port city of Odessa, as well as the southern region’s port infrastructure, has been attacked by Russia several times this week.

Among other things, 60,000 tons of grain were destroyed in an attack on Odessa port overnight Wednesday, in what appears to be part of an ongoing effort to cripple Ukraine’s food exports since Moscow pulled out of the Black Sea grain deal.
