Faith Kipyegon has run her third world record of the season in the Monaco Diamond League on Friday.
Kenyan middle distance running greatness Faith Kipyegon continued her sensational track and field season by breaking the world record in the women’s mile, this time in 30 degree heat.
Kipyegon, a two-time Olympic 1500m champion and two-time world champion, clocked a stunning time of 4:07.64 in the mile, almost five seconds better than the old record.
Kipyegon greatly underestimated the Netherlands of Sifan Hassan 4.12.33 of the record held in the name. Earlier this season, Kipyegon also ran the world record in 1500 meters and 5000 meters.
Norwegian Karsten Warholm cooled the world season’s top time of 46.51 in the 400-meter hurdles. Apart from the Norwegian ME runner, only the American runner has been able to do better than this Ray Benjamin and Brazil Alison dos Santos, who opened his season in Monaco with a time of 47.66. Warholm’s world record of 45.94 is from the Tokyo Olympics.
of Kenya Wyclife Kinyamal ran the men’s 800 meters with a top time of 1:43.22. Also from the United States Nia Ali the winning time of 12.30 is the season’s best in the 100-meter hurdles.
