Also Ismael Cruz Cordova, who plays the elf Arondir in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Amazon Prime *, has now spoken openly about the rough patch before his success.

Like many performers, Puerto Rican actor Ismael Cruz Córdova struggled from one supporting role to the next early in his career. It was only about five years ago that his acting career picked up speed with larger roles in Miss Bala, Berlin Station and The Undoing, until he finally became a real protagonist in Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series. But before that, his life looked very different, as he revealed on Instagram:

I started my life at the age of 20 homeless.
I had a recurring role in a very popular TV series.
Then I appeared several times in another series.
I was shooting a movie.
Then another.
Then another.
I was a guest on another TV series.
Then another movie.
When the decade of my 20s came to an end, I was still homeless.

That’s why we’re on strike.

Born in 1987, Lord of the Rings star Ismael Cruz Cordova is 36 years old today. His 20s spanned from 2007 to 2017. In his early 20s, he appeared in five episodes of Good Wife. The other projects he’s talking about are probably the Sesame Street series, the movies In the Blood, Exposed (starring Keanu Reeves) and The Shepherd, as well as the Ray Donovan series and Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn.
