a spaceship costs as much as 25 sandwiches

A fan of the upcoming sci-fi epic Starfield has calculated that you can buy a spaceship for 25 sandwiches in the RPG.

What is this bill? A Starfield fan named “Mr_Twiddles” shared the observation on Reddit that a “patty melt” is said to be worth 295 credits in Starfield.

Mr_Twiddles also added that he was concerned about the economy of the game given the expensive sandwich prices, as 64 patty melts can buy a spaceship.

However, perceptive user Matthew_Al-Wahid pointed out in the comments that the math wasn’t quite right as the player’s starting ship, The Frontier, is cheaper.

As seen in Starfield’s June 11th gameplay deep dive, the Frontier is worth 7,375 credits, which is exactly the same as 25 Patty Melts.

Of course, you have to keep in mind that the values given could be the selling price and not the buying price – i.e. the monetary value you would get if you sold the ship.

You would probably have to pay more for a purchase yourself. It is also possible that you get less from the sale of sandwiches than you would pay yourself.

Is 7,375 credits in Starfield a lot? No, a spaceship for 7,275 credits is the bare minimum, and 25 sandwiches are of course not enough to build a space fleet, start an empire or buy huge freighters.

Simply purchasing certain pieces of equipment or more powerful weapon systems for your ship is more expensive than the Frontier. For example, in Deep-Dive we saw an automatic cannon that cost around 12,800 credits.

Another spacecraft that was shown was worth about 47,800 credits. That would be over 160 sandwiches. So there will surely be a better way to make money in Starfield.

Have fans discovered any other interesting details? Starfield fans keep sharing interesting discoveries on the RPG’s subreddit. Some were sure to have discovered a well-known weapon on the screenshot.

Others analyze every detail shown in various showcases bit by bit. A Reddit user even collected all this information in one document and provided it with a table of contents:
