The report states that a sender has sent about 90 emails to the police since last summer, with “propaganda regarding alleged abuse in animal welfare cases.”
The background is that police officers sometimes lend a helping hand to the county administrative board when animals are to be taken care of. This is because the situations can in some cases become threatening or violent.
The call: Go home to the police
According to the incident report, five police officers have been mapped and singled out as criminals, incompetent, corrupt and mentally ill. At the same time, followers of the activists are said to have gone out on social media and urged people to go home to the police to “give them what they deserve” and “make it really difficult for them”.
The police assess the actions as criminal, in the form of defamation, harassment and threats against officials. Conversations show concern that people should contact employees, map relatives or already know which animals they have.
Meeting about powder letter
At the end of March 2023, another meeting was held due to the fact that powder letters were sent to a large number of county administrative boards around the country. Later, the case was closed when it was established that the police “acted firmly against the actors in question” and that “the group is safe and has played it a lot.”
In an investigation, SVT has reported on how activist groups systematically direct threats and hatred towards government employees, when it is believed that the county administrative board takes care of animals and decides on animal bans on incorrect grounds.
