She hasn’t played 90 minutes since the EC last year.
Last night, Caroline Seger burst into tears.
– I really had to fight in the dark, she says.
She is Sweden’s most meritorious player and this year’s WC will be her 14th championship in a row. But it has not been an easy journey there for Caroline Seger. Many raised their eyebrows that she was even selected for the tournament, as she had not played a full match since the EC last year.

But despite everything, she was selected for the championship, and last night it was an open-hearted Seger who met the media, with five days until the WC premiere.
Last night she spoke openly and honestly about the tough period on the sidelines, something she had never experienced before.
– I guess it hasn’t happened that many times that I’ve taken a step back. But it has been a tough period for me. It has been a situation that I have never experienced in my career before. I really had to fight in the dark, says Seger.

– Time has run away from me. When I have felt that I am on my way back, something has happened that has caused me to backtrack again. And it is clear that then time is running out. I never thought I would…
According to Expressen, Caroline Seger burst into tears.
– I never thought there would be so many matches. I hadn’t seen that. So it’s been a crap period. It has it.
Seger herself states that she is ready to play and that she hopes to “grow into the tournament”.
