The free solstice event 2023 starts today in Destiny 2. Bungie has already announced the first details. Here you can find out what awaits you as part of the summer highlights.
The most important things about the 2023 solstice in brief:
What is the solstice event? Every summer, it is customary in Destiny 2 to celebrate the time-limited “Solstice Event” in the European Air Zone. Of course, space granny Eva Levante is responsible for organizing the event and distributing tasks to the guardians.

Bungie is decorating the tower with colorful flowers and decorations, and summery items and weapons can be earned during the “Campfire Party”, as well as branches of silver.
The Solstice also offers three special features related to armor and weapons.
So if you’re looking to fine-tune your build in Destiny 2, Solstice is the event for you. And it also makes you particularly chic.

What’s new in the 2023 Solstice Event? Bungie announced last year that they simplified the armor upgrade process for all classes. Perfect stats with 100 Discipline for the best grenade builds or 100 Recovery to better survive the Crucible are easier and achievable for everyone thanks to the event.
In 2023, changes have now been made to the difficulty level of the event. For example, Bungie has been working on both enemy density and the overall difficulty of the Bonfire Party activity.
You will find that you have to put in a little more effort to light the fire. We’re also introducing two new buffs to add even more variety.
Bungie writes about this in the TWiD blog (“This Week at Destiny blog)
These buffs are only active during Solstice 2023:
These are rewards at Solstice 2023
This is what the Crowning Dialogue String Missile Launcher can do: In appearance, the new Strang Rocket Launcher is reminiscent of the Gambit Bad Omen Rocket Launcher, though obviously with a precision frame.
And that in particular might be disappointing for some players as these variants deal 20% less damage than Adaptive or Aggressive Frame Rocket Launchers.
In addition, “Culturing Dialogue” will have the following perks:
This is the weapon’s native attribute:
These are the new event armors: In addition to the special feature that every guardian can optimize the Solstice armor perfectly, one especially loves the fact that one can earn an armor glow.
As in previous years, the new Solstice armor set comes with both free and paid glows. And just like last year, if you fully upgrade a piece of armor with fuel, it will glow.
So you have the choice whether you prefer to grind the sets for free or buy them directly.
Also this year, players will have another chance to earn the Solstice Seal and the Flame Keeper title by completing the event challenges.
How do I make my armor glow for free? In order to make your armor glow and focus for free, you need to find and use silver sprigs, silver ash, and fuel.
Good to know: Each time you upgrade a piece of Solstice armor, it is permanent and applies to all Solstice pieces for that slot. And you can complete the level-up tasks even after the event ends.
What else is there to earn? Of course there will also be different cosmetics again. Including a small “bumper boat” that has a water effect. This mislead leaked via Twitter:
Or you can pick up this “Lawnmower” Sparrow at the Solstice, which you can use to mow away that nasty green grass you’ve touched this Season 21. It is not yet known whether these two cosmetics are also available for the in-game currency Shiny Dust.
When does the solstice occur? The event starts today on July 18, 2023 for the weekly reset at 7:00 p.m. As always, it will be active for 3 weeks, so you have until August 8th, 2023 to max out your armor and earn the Strand Rocket Launcher Godroll.
Who can attend this event? The event is free, so any interested player can take part – regardless of additional content. New players just need to complete Eva’s introductory quest.
Is the Solstice event an option for you that you use to tweak your armor or make your Warden shine? Or do you already have the perfect triple 100 build that you’re not bothering with anymore?
