Heat record in Rome – over 40 degrees

The extreme heat has hit communities hard around the world. In China, the record temperature of 52.2 degrees has been measured and in southern Europe people are talking about the heat wave Kerberos where temperatures above 40 degrees have been measured.

In Italy, red weather warnings have been issued for several cities, which means that there are health risks even for healthy people. During Friday, Greek authorities made the decision to temporarily close the Acropolis in the capital Athens to “protect” visitors.

Expected to be warmer in Europe

The second wave of heat in Europe that is expected to arrive in the next few days is called Karon by Italian meteorologists, and it is expected to reach 48 degrees in some places.

The heat records are believed to be partly due to the El Niño heat phenomenon and partly to global warming.
