The nightmare for Sweden with only days to the World Cup – the news about the big star that worries

Days left until the WC.
Then the Diamantbollen winner Fridolina Rolfö is missing from Sweden’s training.

– We cannot make a diagnosis, says national team doctor Houman Ebrahimi.

Sweden enters this year’s World Cup on Sunday against South Africa. The form seems to be good, as Sweden won a “secret” rematch against the Philippines behind closed doors on the night of Monday, where Stina Blackstenius excelled with a hat-trick.

Swedish concerns

But there is also reason for some concern for the Swedish camp. Perhaps the biggest star, Diamantbollen winner Fridolina Rolfö, missed Sweden’s training on Tuesday. So did the talent Hanna Lundkvist, who arrived at the training facility on crutches, according to several media.

Fridolina Rolfö scored a goal in the match against the Philippines, but with only days to go until the World Cup, she was forced to stop training due to symptoms of illness.

– Mild symptoms, so we cannot make a diagnosis. But all our focus is on optimizing all players for the match, says national team doctor Houman Ebrahimi to Aftonbladet.

“About her performance”

However, Rolfö should not be isolated from any teammates, and it is only a matter of having Rolfö as ready as possible for Sunday’s premiere.

– Regarding “Frido”, it is about her performance, what is best for her. That she should be in her best shape before the match, says Ebrahimi.

Rolfö decided the Champions League final for Barcelona earlier in the spring, but has also had some problems with a knee. She has said that she “hopes it lasts”, and that is a key if Sweden wants to go far in this year’s WC.
