Small plane has crashed in Poland – five dead

It was around 7pm on Monday evening that a small plane crashed into a hangar outside the Polish capital Warsaw, local media reports.

The country’s health minister, Adam Niedzielski, writes on Twitter that five people have died and that at least seven people are injured.

He also states that ten ambulances and several helicopters were called to the scene after the accident.

The Polish News Agency PAP reports that the accident occurred when the plane attempted to land in poor weather conditions.

Several people are said to have been in the hangar when the accident occurred. According to rescue service spokesperson Monika Nowakowska-Brynda, the people must have sought shelter from the bad weather.
