At 5 pm on Sunday, the police became aware of a shooting in Valsätra in southern Uppsala. In connection with the shooting, two men in their 30s were injured and had to be taken to hospital.
The men are said to have been awake and talkative when they arrived at the hospital, but the police have no further information on the extent of their injuries.
– We have several resources in place and are investigating the matter in this matter now, RLC commander Linda Winge told TV4 Nyheterna at an early stage.
A large police operation is still underway in Valsätra. The police have cordoned off an area around a gas station and are working, among other things, to question any witnesses and to secure technical evidence.
Police are investigating whether the shooting may be gang-related, but there is no such information at this time. The two men with gunshot wounds are already known to the police, says Linda Winge.
The police are investigating the incident as attempted murder, but no one has been arrested for the crime.
