Wallaceburg Sydenham pool to close for renovations

The Wallaceburg Sydenham pool will be temporarily closed for renovations starting July 31.

The pool is expected to reopen Sept. 8, the municipality said Thursday, with improvements to the men’s and women’s changerooms and the front desk area.

During the closing, all pool memberships will be put on hold to ensure members aren’t charged during the renovations. The public can still access other outdoor pools and one indoor pool with free recreational swims all summer under Chatham-Kent’s Summer Fest lineup.

“We are thrilled that our facility is receiving these much-needed upgrades,” Amy Wadsworth, manager of recreation services and community engagement, said.

“The renovations to the changerooms and front desk area will enhance the overall experience for our community members, and we look forward to welcoming them back once the work is complete.”

Swimming lessons will resume in the fall and will open for registration during the regular fall sign-up period.

“We would like to express our gratitude to the community for their understanding and support during the renovation period,” Wadsworth added.

“The improvements being made to the Wallaceburg Sydenham pool will ensure that it continues to be a safe and enjoyable space for all residents.”
