The family who were in Venice received an SMS from Norwegian on Friday that all flights the next day, including theirs, had been cancelled.
– We were supposed to go home today in the middle of the day, but we have now spent a few hours booking a bus, train and rented a car so we can get home.
SAS states to SVT that the strike affects 2,000 of their passengers who have been rebooked and all of them will be able to travel home within three days. The Bramsved family who traveled with Norwegian did not have the same flow.
– We couldn’t find a new flight to book before Wednesday and we didn’t have the opportunity to rebook our accommodation in Venice because there is a big festival there tonight.
Travel in several stages
The family is now traveling home via bus from Venice to Munich, then train from Munich to Hamburg which departs after midnight before a rental car is waiting in Hamburg which they will drive to Kastrup airport where their own car is parked.
Good atmosphere
Despite the canceled flight and the long journey, the mood has not suffered, at least not after the first bus hours, says Anna Bramsved.
– It is quite good. It’s a nice view. We are going up to the Alps soon, so that will be a small bonus, she says.
