Vehicle crashes into St. Clair River

Fourth suspect sought in violent home invasion Sarnia police

Everyone escaped unharmed and a truck had to be towed out of the St. Clair River after crashing into the water Friday evening, Sarnia police say.

Two teenagers in the vehicle made it to shore safely, near Marlborough Lane along the St. Clair Parkway, after breaking a window, police said. They were unable to open the doors in the sinking truck.

Sarnia and Point Edward fire departments assisted a local tow company removing the truck from the river, police said.

A 16-year-old has been charged with careless driving, and with Class G1 license holder unaccompanied by a qualified driver, police said.

Police continue to investigate, and anyone with information is asked to call Const. Rich Scott at 519-344-8861 ext. 6217, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
