For 9 euros you can become the main characters of a classic horror film in the new co-op survival game on Steam

Cooperatively explore paranormal activity and strange sightings with up to 6 friends in a new survival game on Steam.

What kind of game is this? Surrounded is a survival game released on Steam in Early Access on July 14th. It will cost €8.99, with the price set to increase to €15 after Early Access.

Playable cooperatively with up to 6 players, Surrounded promises an open world with various “paranormal activities, strange sightings and creatures that can end your life.”

The game world, for its part, should be dynamic and fully explorable and contain forests, buildings and hidden structures. On top of that, the developers at Nightmare Studios promise that you can open every door and interact with most items.

In order to put you in the ideal horror mood, Surrouded uses the power of Unreal Engine 5. The trailer shows you what the whole thing looks like in the game:

What is Surrounded about? In the story of Surrounded, a complete system meltdown occurred in a remote research lab working with black matter.

The disaster also affected the surrounding forests and villages – and the region became an area fraught with danger.

Shortly after the incident at the lab, government agents disappeared into the area to investigate the destruction and look for survivors.

Now the region is a restricted area and sealed off from the outside world. The remaining residents were warned not to enter the place.

But of course, players take on the role of a group that doesn’t heed the warning and enters the dangerous region anyway to convince themselves that they are indeed surrounded by dangerous beings and strange happenings – like the teenagers in numerous classic ones horror movies.

What content is still to come? The developers have already published a first, small roadmap on Steam, which shows upcoming content that Surrouned is supposed to get in the future.

The integration of a skill tree should follow as early as August. A new creature, competitive levels and other achievements are also to be added.

After that, more creatures, storylines and even a new map should complement the game. A Halloween event is also planned for October.
