German Chancellor Olaf Scholz held a press conference in Berlin today. Answering questions about current developments, Scholz touched upon Turkey’s relations with the European Union (EU) and said, “I believe that the relations between the EU and Turkey, especially between Greece and Turkey, can develop further.”
SWEDEN’S NATO MEMBERSHIP
Giving positive messages about Turkey’s Sweden’s membership to NATO, Scholz said, “President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has already said it. I am also very confident that there is no indication that membership (Sweden’s membership in NATO) will be extended,” he said.

President Erdoğan answered questions about the talks he held at the NATO Summit after the Friday prayers. Erdogan: “After the NATO summit, will a new page be opened with the European Union and will there be changes in visas again?” On the question, he said:
“Currently, our expectation is to get the answer to the expectations from the European Union. Because we talked about this in detail with the leaders of all European Union member countries that I met in Vilnius.
