As a fan revealed on Facebook, he couldn’t show Pumuckl to his children: the series, rated by Prime Video as 12+, was not shown on his children’s age-restricted accounts. The reason for the assessment was apparently “smoking and violence“. The report caused amusement among fans, but also outrage.

“Ridiculous, no limitation at all“A fan asked in the Facebook comments. “My children look at Pumuckl from an early age and are definitely not harmed by it‘ protested another. And another poked fun at the exaggerated rating, writing: ‘Clearly FSK 18“.
How Amazon reacted to the error
The Facebook message was subsequently picked up by various media sites. The BR provided an official 12+ rating for Prime “violence, alcohol consumption and smoking“ determined, which the streamer declared to be a mistake when asked. A short time later, all episodes from 0 were released, as was the case with the FSK, for example, the movie Pumuckl and his circus adventure.
In most cases, Prime adopts the age rating of the FSK, but can also modify it in individual cases. What exactly went wrong here is not known.
