Kenyan running legend Eliud Kipchoge will line up for the Berlin Marathon on September 24, where he set a new world record in 2022, his team announced on Thursday (July 13). Kipchoge, who will be aiming for a third unprecedented Olympic marathon title in Paris in 2024 after 2016 and 2021, is looking to revive after suffering a rare defeat during the Boston Marathon in April (6th). “ On the way to the Olympic Games in Paris, I am happy to come back to the Berlin marathon, which seems to me to be the ideal preparation. I have great memories there, I can’t wait to run the streets of Berlin again “said the 38-year-old athlete, quoted in a press release from his team. Kipchoge hopes to win a fifth time in Berlin (after 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022), on a flat and fast course where he has often shone with two world records (2h01:39 in 2018 then 2h01:09 in 2022) .
