Amineh Kakabaveh, former Member of Parliament for the Left Party and later political savage, says that Sweden was naive in the NATO negotiations with Turkey.
– Neither Kristensson nor Stoltenberg knows whether Erdogan will let Sweden in or not because he is the world’s most easily offended president, he can change his mind at any time.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan promised on Monday to ratify Sweden’s NATO application – a promise that must be fulfilled in exchange for a new deepened cooperation between Sweden and Turkey.
According to Kristersson, the collaboration must take place “completely within the framework of Swedish legislation”, but Kurdish Amineh Kakabaveh does not hold back in her criticism of the government’s decision to agree to Erdogan’s demands.
– I am ashamed of Sweden, she says in an interview with TV4 Nyheterna.
“Can change at any time”
Kakabaveh, who has also previously criticized Sweden’s actions in the NATO issue, believes that Sweden should have waited instead of giving Erdogan exactly what he wants. Especially considering that there are no guarantees that the Turkish president will fulfill his part of the agreement.
– Neither Kristensson nor Stoltenberg knows whether Erdogan will let Sweden in or not, because he is the world’s most easily offended president. He can change his mind at any time, if someone burns a book or a Koran or whatever, she says.
Questioning condemnations
After the recent Koran burnings and subsequent events, the UN Human Rights Council has come out and condemned Koran burnings. Kakabaveh is also very critical of this.
– We are naive and afraid. This fear of Islamophobia. I would never personally burn a book, be it religious or political. But if provocateurs do it, why should a government bow to Erdogan, and condemn the burning of the Koran, when we know that our freedom of expression comes before everything else? she says.
Kakabaveh believes that we are sending a signal to the Islamist states that we do not dare to resist their demands and that Sweden is more threatened by Islamist regimes and forces than by Putin.
– The countries that have voted for this execute homosexuals every day, murder, and Sweden and the EU and the US say nothing about it.
