Huawei’s first local cloud service Huawei Cloud announced. Introduced at an event held today, the service covers data, artificial intelligence and local cloud. Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure at the event Dr. Omer Fatih SayanPresident of Huawei Europe Jim Lu and Huawei Türkiye General Manager Kaya Shi made statements.
Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Dr. Omer Fatih Sayan In his evaluation, he said: “In this period when data is being consumed very rapidly, data centers have to respond to needs very quickly. This needs to be done in a world where data is constantly increasing. It is estimated that the number of centers, large and small, that store and direct data traffic in the world is approaching 10 million, and these centers cover a physical area of nearly two billion square meters. The security of data centers and cloud computing is of great importance for both institutions and individuals. When adequate precautions are not taken in cloud computing systems, major attacks can be made. Entire systems can be damaged, allocated resources can be changed without the knowledge of users, and unauthorized access to sensitive data can be achieved. It is important for cloud computing service providers to take technical and legal measures to ensure the security of their users in terms of reducing the effects of risks. Data centers are growing rapidly in our country. The size of data centers is expected to reach 400,000 square meters in the near future. These key technological services continue to build a more complete ecosystem of digital infrastructure and talent to accelerate the local digitization process. I would like to thank Huawei once again. I hope that the established data center will set an example for other actors of the sector and that more data centers will be established in our country in a short time. I would like to make a call to international companies from here. We say that Turkey’s data should stay in Turkey. Please let’s increase the number of data centers in Turkey,” he said.
Head of the company’s Europe Jim Lu In the opening speech of the summit, “Türkiye is a pioneering and innovative country. We are proud that Türkiye and Huawei have grown together for more than 20 years.” Lu continued, “We are ready to help businesses accelerate their transition to the cloud and innovate cloud-native. Since Huawei Cloud started to serve in Turkey, we have met more and more customers day by day. We are honored to be partners with all of these customers and to help them digitalize.”
